Stewkley has an original Norman church and is filled with 16th,17th and 18th century manor houses. It nestles in the countryside where you can still go for undisturbed walks and long quiet cycle rides. We are a mile from Aylesbury Vale golf course and 50 minutes from London.

Stewkley is an ancient village that has been well preserved. Much of the village is in the Stewkley conservation area. Walking through the village is a joy, with lots of ancient houses and 2 churches (the 1903 Methodist church and the 1150 Norman church).

Head south out of the village and 1 mile away you will find Aylesbury Vale golf course. With excellent reviews, this is an 18 hole, par 72, 6,612 yard course. UK golf guide says: 'This really is a little hidden gem'. Club website

Stewkley is surrounded by public rights of way and small quiet roads through some of the most beautiful countryside in England.

Stewkley village pubs

Stewkley has two fantastic pubs within the village plus several worth visiting only a short drive away. The Carpenters Arms (and Lassan restaurant) is known for it's good food and friendly atmosphere. And The Swan (openned in 1796) also gets fantastic reviews

Stewkley is a great base to visit some of the finest houses and gardens in England. Buckinghamshire is full of country estates open to the public, including Ascott House, Stowe and Waddesdon Manor

Vibrant local towns

15 minutes drive gets you to the heart of Aylesbury, the county capital, with it's vibrant theatre. And 25 minutes the other way (north) gets you to some of the best shopping outside London, in Milton Keynes.


A 12 minute taxi ride to Leighton Buzzard train station and then as little as 35 minutes into London, Euston. From here you can see a show in the west end, shop in Oxford Street and Harrods and eat out in the finest restaurants in the world.
